m35 is a software and consultancy company started by a team of senior technology experts to address segments of the market whose systems integration needs have not been met by existing solutions. The Brief
As a software and solutions provider covering many different markets and specialising in systems integration and transactional web delivery, m35 needed a 24x7 environment that would be flexible enough to not only drive their own web site, but also fulfil their immediate and future clients’ requirements. Their clients may or may not be transactional, require database interaction and / or remote connectivity. In fact, m35’s clients not only require all of the above but also the right to change their mind in the future. Flexibility and proven delivery were key.
With numerous hosting options available, m35 wanted to find an established provider, with proven financial services experience, and with whom to build a long-term relationship. TDM provided the right combination of technical and business skills as well as very competitive prices.
The Solution
m35 needed a hosting solution that would allow it to focus on its main business whilst automating the distribution and delivery of its products and services. They did not want to devote too many resources towards setting up and managing an internal server infrastructure. TDM’s solution was simple and effective, allowing m35 to set up and implement its e-commerce strategy quickly and efficiently.
The key for m35 was flexibility. Being a small company that is experiencing rapid growth, m35 needed to be able to meet the requirements of any new business that it received without being restricted by bandwidth limits, security, downtime and support. Without knowing what to expect, m35 needed to be ready to meet any eventuality.
The TDM solution provided therefore had to be a highly scalable one. m35 needed a solution that was fast, efficient and reliable. It focused largely on providing Windows 2000 servers running the .NET framework and SQL Server 2000 on powerful Dell PowerEdge Servers.
The number of servers and hosting options was tailored to meet m35’s client requirements, and proved to be an ideal situation for m35 as they could effectively sell these services without having to worry about the delivery of them.
TDM also took the problem of security off of m35’s hands, including firewall protection as standard, taking over the maintenance and upgrading of all the security patches and upgrades, and managing the operating system and the server processes.
Conclusion
The solution TDM provided ensured that m35 did not have to worry about downtime or supporting its own infrastructure internally but just concentrate on its own core business, leaving maintenance, support and security of its servers to TDM.
